The Titus County Sheriff Office Patrol Division is commanded by Lieutenant Terry McDowell.  The Patrol

Division has sixteen sworn full time deputies and reserve deputies.  Patrol deputies work 8 hour shifts each day and are supervised by the on duty Sergeant or Corporal for that shift.

Patrol deputies routinely complete reports for all misdemeanor and/or felony cases that occur in Titus County.   Titus County Deputy’s enforce all criminal and traffic laws in the county and assist other agencies such as Department of Public Safety (DPS), Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPW) and other local agencies when requested.   

The Titus County Sheriff’s Office has an Emergency Response Team (ERT) that consists of both Patrol Division deputies and Criminal Investigation Division (CID) deputies.  The ERT trains regularly for high risk incidents that may occur in Titus County and also the execution of Search Warrants. The Emergency Response Team (ERT) is commanded by the Patrol Lieutenant and 2 Team Leaders.
